Two MetroBus Routes to be Detoured for Two Years During Kingshighway Bridge Reconstruction

Monday, July 6, the City of St. Louis plans to close a section of Kingshighway Boulevard between Shaw Avenue and Southwest/Vandeventer Avenues for approximately 2 years to accommodate the reconstruction of a 75-year-old bridge. For the entire duration of the closure, the #95 Kingshighway MetroBus will be rerouted around the bridge reconstruction via Chouteau Avenue, Tower Grove Avenue and Magnolia Avenue. In addition, the #14 Botanical Garden MetroBus will be rerouted via Northrup Avenue to provide access to McRee Avenue.

It is anticipated that the #95 Kingshighway MetroBus will be able to maintain current schedules despite the detour, and passengers traveling through the area should not experience any delays due to the bridge reconstruction. However, the #95 Kingshighway will not be able to serve several MetroBus stops on Kingshighway between Clayton Avenue and Magnolia Avenue as a result of the necessary reroute.

The following are options for passengers using the stops along the current #95 Kingshighway route that will not be served during the bridge reconstruction, beginning July 6.
