​Central West End MetroLink Station to Close for Platform Work November 6 & 7

MetroLink trains will not stop at the station that weekend

The Central West End MetroLink Station will be temporarily closed on Saturday, November 6, and Sunday, November 7, due so crews can work on the station’s platform. The station will be not be accessible to MetroLink riders, and trains will not stop at the Central West End Station that weekend.

Shuttle buses will be operating for transit riders who need to travel to or from the Central West End Station on November 6 and 7.

Traveling to Central West End MetroLink Station – 11/6 & 11/7

MetroLink riders traveling to the Central West End Station will need to exit the train at the Cortex MetroLink Station. A MetroBus shuttle will be available to transport riders from Cortex to the Central West End Station.

Traveling from Central West End MetroLink Station – 11/6 & 11/7

Transit riders who need to connect with MetroLink from the Central West End Station will need to board the MetroBus shuttle at the bus area of the Central West End Station, located at Taylor and Children’s Place. The shuttle will transport riders to MetroLink at the Cortex MetroLink Station.

Riders traveling to or from the Central West End Station should allow an extra 15 minutes for their commute. The Central West End Station will reopen at the beginning of MetroLink service on Monday, November 8.

To accommodate the construction work, MetroLink will operate on a single track at the Central West End Station and Blue Line MetroLink trains will only operate between the Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44 and Forest Park-DeBaliviere Stations beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, November 5 through the end of service on Sunday, November 7. During this period:

  • ​​Westbound Blue Line passengers will need to board a Red Line train between the Fairview Heights and Central West End MetroLink Stations, and travel to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station to transfer to a Blue Line train and continue their westbound trips.
  • Eastbound Blue Line passengers will need to board a Red Line train at the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station to continue their eastbound trips.
  • Red Line MetroLink passengers may experience delays of 5 minutes.
  • Passengers should allow 10 minutes when transferring between Red Line and Blue Line.
