Metro Announces Fair St. Louis Holiday Schedule and Encourages Area Residents to Use Public Transit to Get to the Heart of the Action

Avoid the hassles of traffic congestion, street closures and parking, and take Metro to the heart of the action. Metro is reminding area residents that using transit provides a convenient and economical alternative to driving downtown this summer. Metro also continues to be a great alternative to get to St. Louis Cardinals games, Live on the Levee concerts, Forest Park attractions and other activities around the region.

Metro’s Fair St. Louis Transit Services include the following:

MetroLink

Saturday, July 3rd & Sunday, July 4th – (DAYTIME) MetroLink will operate every 15 minutes on the Red and Blue lines from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 3rd & Sunday, July 4th – (EVENING) MetroLink will operate every 12 minutes on the Red and Blue lines from 5:30 p.m. to 11:40 p.m.

MetroBus

Saturday, July 3rd – Parade Reroutes
MetroBus will operate on a regular Saturday schedule. Bus routes serving downtown St. Louis will be rerouted from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on July 3rd, due to the closure of Market Street between Jefferson and Broadway. Signs will be posted at affected bus stops.

Sunday, July 4th
MetroBus will operate on a regular Sunday schedule.

Metro Parking
Fairgoers from Missouri may park free in park-ride lots located at the North Hanley, UMSL South, Rock Road, Wellston, Delmar Loop, Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44, Forest Park-DeBaliviere, and Brentwood I-64 MetroLink Stations.

In Illinois, fairgoers may park free in park-ride lots located at the East Riverfront, 5th & Missouri, Emerson Park, Washington Park, Fairview Heights, Memorial Hospital, Swansea, Belleville, College, and Shiloh-Scott MetroLink Stations.

Metro Customer Information
Metro volunteers will be at select MetroLink stations beginning at 5:00 p.m. on both days to assist customers traveling to Fair St. Louis.

Please note that Transit Information will be closed on Monday, July 5th.

Metro Fares
A one-way fare on MetroLink is $2.25 for adults and $1.10 for seniors, children ages 5-12, and customers with disabilities. A one-way fare on MetroBus is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for seniors, children ages 5-12, and customers with disabilities. Children younger than five ride free on MetroBus and MetroLink. A Metro One-Day Pass provides unlimited rides throughout the entire Metro system on MetroLink and MetroBus. The Metro One-Day Pass is $7.50 for all customers, including adults, seniors, children ages 5-12, and customers with disabilities.
