Metro to Host Job Fair on June 28
The Bi-State Development Agency (BSDA) is looking for dynamic and team-oriented professionals to join the Metro transit team as MetroBus operators, Metro Call‑A‑Ride van operators and MetroBus station mechanics. The public is invited to find out more about these positions at a job fair on June 28 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Holiday Inn (formerly the Viking), located at 10709 Watson Road in Sunset Hills.
Metro offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, 401K, life insurance, vacation and free public transit. As a drug and alcohol-free workplace, applicants will be required to undergo drug and alcohol testing prior to employment and will be subject to further drug and alcohol testing throughout their employment. In addition, background checks are conducted for all new hires.
All MetroBus operator positions begin as part-time employment with possible advancement to full-time positions based on job performance. Salary during and immediately following training is $14.74 per hour with a top salary rate of approximately $21.05 per hour after working full-time for 48 months. Metro Call‑A‑Ride van operator positions are full-time with a starting hourly rate of $13.70. Successful candidates will work closely with elderly, disabled and specially challenged customers.
The starting salary for MetroBus station mechanics is approximately $46,000 and automotive technology certification or diesel technology is a plus.

The Bi-State Development Agency/Metro (BSDA/Metro) is the operator of the Metro public transportation system for the St. Louis region, which includes the 87 vehicle, 46-mile MetroLink light rail system; 390 MetroBus vehicle fleet that operates on 75 MetroBus routes; and Metro Call‑A‑Ride, a paratransit fleet of 120 vans.
