MetroBus Route Changes Due to GO! St. Louis Marathon Events This Weekend

Bi-State area athletes and families heading to GO! St. Louis Marathon and Family Fitness Weekend events in downtown St. Louis and Forest Park this weekend are encouraged to ride MetroLink to avoid traffic, closed streets and the hassles of finding parking.

Participants can park free at any Metro Park-Ride lot in Missouri or Illinois and take MetroLink to the Union Station MetroLink Station or Civic Center MetroLink Station, which are both within a few blocks of the marathon start and finish lines, or to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station for the events being held in Forest Park. MetroBus is also a great option for runners and their supporters heading to one of the 10 races this weekend, but MetroBus passengers should be aware of several reroutes in effect on Saturday, April 11, and on Sunday, April 12 during the events.

MetroBus Reroutes

The 15th annual event will have a major impact on Missouri MetroBus routes on Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 12, in downtown St. Louis, Forest Park, Soulard and other nearby areas. MetroBus customers should allow extra time for their commutes if traveling through the affected areas.

On Saturday, April 11, a portion of 14th Street is scheduled to close between Market and Pine starting at 7 a.m. to prepare for the marathon. This will impact six MetroBus routes from 7 a.m. until the end of service:

  • #10 Gravois-Lindell

  • #32 ML King-Chouteau

  • #41 Lee

  • #74 Florissant

  • #94 Page

  • #97 Delmar

Also on Saturday, the 5K Walk/Run will begin at 8 a.m. in Forest Park. Streets in and around the park will be closed from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. This closure will impact the #3 Forest Park Trolley.

On Sunday, April 12, street closures will begin very early in the morning and last until 5 p.m. in downtown St. Louis and several surrounding areas. Twenty MetroBus routes will need to be rerouted at various times on Sunday, including:

  • #3 Forest Park Trolley

  • #4 Natural Bridge

  • #8 Bates-Morganford

  • #10 Gravois-Lindell

  • #11 Chippewa

  • #13 Union

  • #14 Botanical Garden

  • #30 Soulard

  • #32 ML King-Chouteau

  • #40 Broadway

  • #41 Lee

  • #42 Sarah

  • #59 Dogtown

  • #73 Carondelet

  • #74 Florissant

  • #80 Park-Shaw
