MetroLink will change the location of the rail grinding work scheduled for Friday night, March 30. Instead of conducting rail grinding work between Union Station and the Central West End MetroLink Stations tonight, MetroLink will grind the rails between North Hanley and Lambert Airport Terminal MetroLink Stations. Westbound passengers traveling from the North Hanley MetroLink Station to the Lambert Airport Terminals will experience 10 to 15 minute delays Friday night starting at 10 p.m. until the end of service. Blue Line customers will not be impacted by the work.

The MetroLink schedule below has been revised to include the Friday night rail grinding.

Friday, March 30, from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., MetroLink will operate on a single track between the East Riverfront and the Arch-Laclede’s Landing MetroLink Stations. Blue and Red Line passengers should expect five minute delays.

Friday, March 30, beginning at 10 p.m. until the end of service, MetroLink will conduct rail grinding on the tracks between North Hanley and Lambert Airport Terminal MetroLink Stations. To accommodate the crews, MetroLink will operate on a single track at the Lambert Airport Terminal #2 MetroLink Station. Westbound passengers traveling from the North Hanley MetroLink Station to the Lambert Airport Terminals will experience 10 to 15 minute delays Friday night starting at 10 p.m. until the end of service. Blue Line customers will not be impacted by the work.

Saturday and Sunday, March 31 and April 1, beginning at 4 p.m. until the end of service, MetroLink will conduct rail grinding on the tracks between the Central West End and Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Stations. To accommodate this work, MetroLink will single track at the Central West End MetroLink Station. During single track operations, Red Line and Blue Line customers can expect five minute delays Saturday and Sunday.

NOTE: As the special equipment used for the rail grinding moves down the tracks through different communities, it is important to remind residents that the rail grinder creates sparks. A fire suppression crew follows directly behind the rail grinder. Metro has contacted emergency responders in the affected communities in advance.
