MetroLink Work Scheduled October 13-19

Rail maintenance work on the MetroLink system may result in short delays for some passengers next week.

To accommodate the crews, MetroLink will operate on a single track at the Central West End Station starting at 11:30 p.m. through the end of service on Monday (Oct. 13). Red Line and Blue Line customers may experience 5 to 10 minute delays.

MetroLink will also operate westbound and eastbound trains temporarily on one track starting at 8 p.m. through the end of service Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Oct. 14-16) at the Central West End Station. During those times, Blue Line trains will only operate between the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station and the Shrewsbury Lansdowne I-44 Station. Eastbound and westbound Blue Line and Red Line customers may experience 5 to 10 minute delays.

• Westbound Blue Line passengers boarding between the Fairview Heights MetroLink Station and the Central West End Station Monday night through Thursday night should board a Red Line train to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station and transfer to a Blue Line to continue westbound.

• Eastbound Blue Line passengers traveling to Illinois who board between the Shrewsbury Lansdowne I-44 Station and the Skinker MetroLink Station Monday night through Thursday night will need to transfer to a Red Line train at the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station to continue eastbound. Eastbound Blue Line customers boarding between the Central West End Station and the Fairview Heights Station will also need to board an eastbound Red Line train for their trips.

MetroLink will also operate on a single track at the Terminal #2 MetroLink Station at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport on Friday (Oct. 17) from 8 p.m. until the end of service and from beginning of service to the end of service on Saturday (Oct. 18) and from the beginning of service until 8 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 19). Westbound Red Line customers travelling from the North Hanley MetroLink Station to Terminal #1 MetroLink Station should allow an extra 5 to 10 minutes for their commutes. Blue Line trains will not be impacted by this maintenance work. The start times will be adjusted, as needed, in the event the National League Championship Series would return to St. Louis for Game 6 (Oct. 18) and/or 7 (Oct. 19).
