Ride Metro Transit to the Soulard Mardi Gras
[ST. LOUIS, MO/Feb. 10, 2023] Metro Transit makes it easy for everyone to let the good times roll in downtown St. Louis and at the Mardi Gras festivities in Soulard while avoiding street closures, traffic and parking hassles.
The Mardi Gras Bud Light Grand Parade is Saturday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m. and parade-goers can take advantage of free parking at more than 20 Park-Ride lots in Missouri and Illinois, and ride MetroLink to the Stadium Station, which is right next to Busch Stadium where the parade kicks off.
MetroLink trains will operate every 20 minutes on the Red Line and Blue Line on February 18, with trains arriving and departing every 10 minutes at Stadium Station and at all MetroLink stations between the Forest Park-DeBaliviere and Fairview Heights Stations. Metro Transit will have extra personnel on the system to assist customers.
MetroBus is another great way to get to the Mardi Gras celebration. The #10 Gravois-Lindell, #30 Arsenal and #73 Carondelet MetroBus routes all have stops near Soulard. Please note that these routes may be operating on a reroute because of the Mardi Gras Grand Parade and festivities.
Reminders before you ride:
- Bottles, cans and coolers are not permitted at Soulard Mardi Gras festivities, and alcohol is not permitted on Metro Transit vehicles or on Metro Transit property.
- Make Mardi Gras easy by purchasing your $5 Day Pass in advance on your mobile device with the Transit app.
- The East Riverfront MetroLink Station is temporarily closed for construction. Customers are encouraged to instead park at the 5th & Missouri Station and catch the train there.
The St. Louis Blues are home on February 18 for an afternoon game at the Enterprise Center. Hockey fans headed downtown for the matchup between the Blues and Colorado Avalanche can avoid traffic and road closures by hopping on MetroLink. They can conveniently to purchase a MetroLink ticket on their phones via the Transit app and ride the train to the Civic Center MetroLink Station, located next to the Enterprise Center in downtown St. Louis.
