Ride On to the MLS Cup Playoffs on MetroLink
The MLS Cup Playoffs come to St. Louis for the first time on Sunday, October 29, when St. Louis CITY SC takes on Sporting KC at CITYPARK – and MetroLink makes it easy to enjoy all of the thrills and excitement. With the Union Station MetroLink Station located just a couple blocks south of CITYPARK, MetroLink is a convenient way to join the thousands of soccer fans heading downtown for the big game and watch party, without the hassles of finding parking and navigating crowded and closed streets.
The playoff match between St. Louis CITY SC and Sporting KC at CITYPARK starts at 9 p.m. on Sunday. Fans who do not have tickets to the game can still take part in fun and cheer on their team at a free, CITY SC-hosted Playoff Watch Party at Lou Fusz Plaza, next to CITYPARK, where they can bring blankets and chairs, enjoy food and drinks, and watch the match from a big screen.
Metro Transit has 21 free Park-Ride lots located at MetroLink stations in St. Louis County and the City of St. Louis in Missouri, and in St. Clair County in Illinois. After parking on one of the lots, soccer fans can purchase their transit ticket and hop on a Red or Blue Line MetroLink train to downtown St. Louis and exit the train when arriving at the Union Station MetroLink Station, where it’s a short walk to CITYPARK. Round trip MetroLink tickets can be conveniently purchased for $5 on mobile devices by downloading the Transit App, or at Ticket Vending Machines found at all MetroLink stations and Metro Transit Center.
Metro Transit will have additional security officers available on the system to assist passengers. To plan your trip to the big game, download the Transit app to your mobile device, use the maps and schedules on MetroStLouis.org, or contact Metro Transit Information by phone at 314.231.2345 or by text at 314.207.9786, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
