Construction Detours at Civic Center Transit Center This November
Return to BlogConstruction work begins on Monday, October 28, to add new safety and security infrastructure to the Civic Center Transit Center as part of the Secure Platform Plan.
During this construction work, customers will need to follow temporary detours when traveling between the MetroLink platform and transit center building and bus stops at Civic Center. These temporary detours are expected to remain in place through the end of November.

I live at 1400 Russell in St. Louis and work at 4 E Lockwood in Webster Groves. I decided to start riding the metro 3 days a week since it gave me literally door to door service between work and home. But it has not worked out that way. The route your wedbsite tells me to take is to get the 10 at gravois and russell at 7:13 am to the civic center and them catch the blue line to shrewsbury at 7:25. The ten is hardly ever on time so I usually get to the civic center after 7:20 and I usually have to run to get to the platform to make the 7:25 train. Now Metro has made the stairs at the civic center unusable because of construction. So now I have to go up the block, over and back down the block to get to the train. That distance cannot be covered in time to get to the train at 7:25 if the ten is late which it usually is. I am 59 years and no where near an olympic level runner. I do not know why Metro likes to make it so hard on it’s customers. But I am not willing to waste money riding to the civic center just to watch the train I am trying to catch leave without me. So I am done with Metro. I thought riding the Metro was a good thing for the enviorenment and wear and tare on my auto, but Metro’s polocies make near impossible. Do better.
