Enjoy Visits With Santa, Festive Sounds and Holiday Cheer on Metro Transit
Return to BlogMetro Transit is spreading holiday cheer throughout the transit system this December, with a little help from Santa Claus. Transit customers will be able to visit and take photos with Santa, and enjoy festive music, holiday events, and fun giveaways at several Metro Transit locations – as well as find hidden transit gifts on MetroLink, MetroBus and Metro Call‑A‑Ride.
‘Oh What Fun it is to Ride’ Rider Giveaway
Friday, December 6 | 7 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
North Hanley, Central West End, Shrewsbury-Lansdowne I-44, Emerson Park, Fairview Heights Transit Centers
Representatives from Metro Transit, Citizens for Modern Transit (CMT) and St. Clair County Transit District will be at several transit centers around the region to greet customers, hand out free stainless-steel mugs and share information about CMT’s Guaranteed Ride Home Program.
‘Oh What Fun it is to Ride’ Free Family Event w/Santa
Friday, December 6 | 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Emerson Park Transit Center
Visitors can enjoy free snacks and children can get free goodie bags, while chatting and taking photos with Santa. Guests can also write Santa a letter that he will take back with him to the North Pole.
Santa Claus Rides the Rails
POSTPONED: Tuesday, December 10 | 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Civic Center Transit Center, North Hanley Transit Center, MetroLink Red Line
Keep an eye out for Santa Claus as he roams the MetroLink system to greet customers, take photos and handout candy canes. Santa will start his journey at the Civic Center Transit Center in downtown St. Louis, before hopping on a westbound Red Line MetroLink train to the North Hanley Transit Center, and then returning to Civic Center Transit Center on an eastbound Red Line train.
Holiday Music on Metro Transit
Wednesday, December 11 | 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
5th & Missouri Transit Center, Shiloh-Scott Transit Center, MetroLink Red Line
Transit customers can enjoy the festive sounds of Celia’s Yuletide Express as they perform holiday classics at the 5th & Missouri Transit Center, before hopping on an eastbound Red Line MetroLink train and performing for riders as they head to the Shiloh-Scott Transit Center. Celia’s Yuletide Express will perform again on the return trip from Shiloh-Scott to the 5th & Missouri Transit Center.
Holiday Music on Metro Transit
Thursday, December 19 | 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Civic Center Transit Center
Transit customers at the Civic Center Transit Center will be able to take in the holiday jazz sounds of musical trio Frank’s Creation as they perform in the interior waiting area at Civic Center.
Visit With Santa at North County Transit Center
Saturday, December 21 | 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
North County Transit Center
Santa Claus and his helpers will be inside the North County Transit Center to greet customers, take photos and listen to any last-minute holiday wishes.
Gifts of Transit
December 12 through December 25
MetroLink, MetroBus and Metro Call‑A‑Ride Vehicles
From December 12 through December 25, transit riders may find a surprise gift during their commute. Special holiday envelopes will be randomly placed on MetroLink trains, Metro buses and Metro Call‑A‑Ride vans containing free transit passes customers can use themselves or they can share the Gift of Transit.
