Are you headed to Forest Park this weekend for the annual GO! St. Louis Marathon? We make it easy to participate in all of the excitement without having to deal with traffic, street closures or finding a parking space.

Park at any of the 21 free Park-Ride lots located at MetroLink stations in Missouri and Illinois, purchase a $5 round-trip MetroLink ticket and ride the train to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station. From there, it is a short walk south to the starting line for all of the GO! St. Louis Marathon races on April 7 at the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor & Education Center.

MetroBus is another great option for getting to Forest Park to enjoy the GO! St. Louis Marathon. Spectators, runners and families can catch the #90 Hampton, which serves the Forest Park-DeBaliviere MetroLink Station and stops near Forest Park. Please note that due to street closures for the GO! St. Louis Marathon, several MetroBus routes will have detours on April 7.

The GO! St. Louis Marathon has four races scheduled for April 7, a marathon, half-marathon, marathon relay and 10K. All four races begin at 7 a.m. and start at the Dennis & Judith Jones Visitor & Education Center in Forest Park with the finish line at Market and 14th Street.

To plan your trip, download Transit to your mobile device, use Trip Planner or contact Metro Transit Information, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. by calling 314-231-2345 or 618-271-2345 or texting 314-207-9786.

I’d heard that in past years, MetroLink rides were free to runners with bibs. Is that still true this year?

    1. Matthew Hibbard says:

Hey Alex, thanks for the question. Metro Transit fare is not covered for those who have GO! St. Louis Marathon bibs this year. I’d recommend buying a round-trip ticket ($5) at any ticket vending machine, which are located at every MetroLink station.

  2. Kristina Lodes says:

Relay runners for the Go! St. Louis have a metro pass on their bibs, are these good at any of the metro locations day of the race?

    1. Matthew Hibbard says:

      They are not.
