Photos, videos – even selfies – are fun ways to commemorate your trip on Metro, just remember to follow a few simple rules.

Personal/Non-Commercial Photography

Here are some rules to remember when taking photos or video on the Metro system:

  • Don’t interfere with Metro service – so be sure you’re not impeding foot traffic or blocking doors or stairs
  • Don’t enter, photograph or video non-public areas of the Metro system
  • Lights, tripods and other types of equipment are not permitted
  • Activities may be limited for security, safety or customer convenience

News Media and Commercial/Professional Photography

Journalists, photographers and videographers who wish to take photos, film or video for commercial/professional use – or anyone who needs to set up tripods, lights or other equipment on Metro property – must first contact the Metro Communications Department for approval. You may be required to sign a permit and provide a certificate of insurance 10 business days prior to the proposed shoot.

Contact Metro Communications at 314-982-1458 or email PhotographyFilmingRequest@metrostlouis.org for more information.
